Go within when everything around you feels empty. When you have no ideas, nothing to do, and life feels dull or directionless, turn inward.
Turn off the noise. Step away from social media, television, radio, and YouTube. Be still. Be silent. Ask yourself, “What shall I do? What do you have for me in this life?”
Give yourself 24–72 hours, or longer if you can. In that quiet space, something within you—whether you call it God, intuition, inner wisdom, or intellect—will speak. It will remind you who you are and what you are here to do. It will guide you toward your purpose.
I don’t know what label to give this practice. Is it meditation? Prayer? Self-reflection? A conversation with God? Maybe it is all of them. But I can say one thing with certainty: try it and see where it leads you.
If you have nothing good to say, start with something simple: “Thank you for this day. I am alive and breathing.” Gratitude is a doorway.
Being a healthcare worker has opened my eyes to the reality of health and disease. I have seen how fragile the human body can be. If good health blesses you, extend your strength to someone who lacks it. Many people live with chronic illness, chronic pain, or physical limitations that make even simple tasks difficult. You can do something meaningful for them—help them stand, make them a cup of coffee, offer a moment of comfort.
Without help, some individuals can’t drink or eat. A few individuals stay confined to their beds. Some depend on oxygen to breathe. Some live with pain that shapes every hour of their day. Illness in their bodies often halts their dreams.
If you have health, you have the power to rebuild your life.
Stop harming yourself with overeating, inactivity, or addictions that drain your spirit. Give yourself a timeout. Slow down. Go within. Find who you are again, and start walking toward the purpose waiting for you.
Ask for help in the right places when you need it. Do not isolate for too long. Reach out to communities that lift you up. Live a life that means something—a life rooted in love.
